Outings and Events

Each month the troop goes on an outing within an 2 hour drive from Mukwonago. Typically for these we leave on Friday evening and return on Sunday. These are usually campouts and adventures, including hiking, geocaching, skiing, boating, swimming, climbing, and camping. We plan to have outings year round, and will attend regardless of the weather.

Court of Honor

Approximately 4 times per year we hold a Court of Honor to recognize our Scouts for a job well done.

Winter Campout

In late February, just a few weeks after forming the troop, we embarked on a Winter Campout. Overnight temps were in the 20's and we encountered freezing rain and high winds. This campout allowed the scouts to begin working on their next rank requirements. Even with the less than ideal weather, fun was had by all!

Spring Campout

In March the scouts participated in our Spring Campout. Even though we were camping in March, the weather sure did not look very "Spring-like!" At this campout our scouts continued with learning their Rank Requirements, and began cooking by patrol!

Eagle's Nest

Troop 229 assisted with Cub Scout campout "Eagle's Nest." Once again our track record of having below freezing temps and wintery conditions continued on. Even the snowy weather wasn't able to dampen our scout spirt!

World Scout Jamboree

This year a few of our scouts and leaders made a "day-trip" down to the World Scout Jamboree for a "once in a lifetime" opportunity.

Summer camp

Troop 229 attends a week-long summer camp each year, rotating between midwest based camps. Most recently we attended Camp Long Lake. Check out the fun had by all!

Fall Campout

Troop 229 planned a campout at one of the local campgrounds, complete with some advancement opportunities, a dutch oven cookoff amongst the patrols, and most importantly friendship and fun!

High Adventure

In addition to the adventures each month, Troop 229 plans a High Adventure trip at least every other summer. In 2020, we attended Florida Sea Base.
