WATCH for the Calendars!

Troop Calendars

The scouts have picked outings. The calendars for 4B and 4G will be presented to the committee at the November 14 meeting. Keep your eyes out after that for the 2022 Calendars!

4B Eagle Cave Outing
December 11-12, 2021

Explore the cave during the afternoon & then sleep in it! The 4B December outing is Eagle Cave in Blue River, Wisconsin.

Note: It’s best to buy clothes from Goodwill for this outing as you cannot wear anything you wore in this cave in another cave in the US.

Cost: $70 / person

Permission slips are available.

Recharter / Registration for 2022

You should have received an email with your Recharter information on November 3rd. If you did not receive the email, please see Liz to get your information.

To update your address and phone numbers, please go into Scoutbook.

Recharter forms are due back to the Troop at the November 16 troop meeting. Adults who need training (especially Youth Protection Training), please have it completed by this date.

We collect signed Codes of Conduct at this time. All members (adult and youth) need to sign a new copy and turn it in with their recharter information. Youth members also need to sign a new copy of the Cyber Technology Policy and turn it in.

National is once again increasing dues from $66 to $72 per youth and from $42 to $45 for adults. The Council does not have any dues for this year. Scout Life (formerly Boy’s Life) will be OPTIONAL for an additional cost.

Scout (youth) dues are $91 ($72 National dues and $19 Troop dues).

Adults that wish to help the troop off-set their dues are $45. Or please let us know if you are dual registered and the other unit pays your recharter dues.

OA membership dues are $14 for regular member and $75 for sustaining members. Your recharter information should have had your OA membership status.

In-Person Troop Meetings

We’re going to continue meeting in-person as troops but continue to do so responsibly. Some of the COVID restrictions have been relaxed in the last two months.

Things to remember:

  1. Monitor your personal and family health. If your scout or family has had a fever in the last 2 weeks, has been sick in the last 2 weeks consider staying home. Please ensure you do not currently have a fever.
  2. Continue good hand washing / sanitizing practices - with additional washing / sanitizing as activities require.
  3. If you are un-vaccinated: Wear a cloth mask or face covering whenever inside a building or when within 6 feet of another person. Masks are optional if you are fully vaccinated.
  4. Disinfect surfaces after each meeting.

The troop leadership will continue to monitor the situation, feedback from parents, and recommendations of health officials.

Got Advancement?

Looking to have requirements signed off? Remember, it’s up to you to seek out a scout First Class or Above to test and sign off on your requirements. Once they’ve dated and initialed your advancement sheet, drop it in the box and it will get recorded in Scoutbook. Not in the box or without the initials of whoever signed it off? It doesn’t get recorded.

What about Merit Badges? Once you decide you want to work on a badge, fill out a Blue Card and take it to Mr. Wagner or Mrs. Tahtinen to sign off. They’ll also help you find merit badge counselors. Having issues contacting a counselor? Let Mr. Wagner or Mrs. Tahtinen know so they can help find another counselor.
