4B Swamp Fox Service Outing
September 17-19, 2021

Save the Date! 4B will be providing service at the 2nd weekend of Swamp Fox. Spend a fun weekend helping Cub Scouts enjoy the outdoors and Camp Long Lake!

Permissions Slips are Due at the September 14 Troop Meeting.

Devil’s Lake Outing
October 1-3, 2021

4B & 4G are going to be going to Badger Trails’ Devil’s Lake Hike. Spend a fun weekend hiking and enjoying other fun activities!

Cost: $40 / person (before September 14)

Fall Merit Badge Camporee
October 8-10, 2021

Spend a fall weekend at Camp Long Lake earning Merit Badges! Each MB has limited space and they fill fast, so sign up as soon as possible.

There is a potential that more MB will be added, but no guarantee. Council has also not indicated what any late fees there may be or when they will go into effect. Watch for more information about both these items.

Cost: $60 / scout (early bird fee) | $35 / adult (early bird fee)

Webelos Day Outing
October 23, 2021

Show Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts how much fun it is in a Scouts BSA Troop. We’ll be spending the day at Lapham Peak working on various outdoor skills for the Webelos / AOL Scouts and generally having fun.

Planning Lock-In
October 23-24, 2021

We’re running out of calendar! It’s almost time to plan for 2022! Start thinking of fun ideas of things you can do next year. The suggestion box will be out at troop meetings in September.

Then after the Webelos Day Outing, we’ll plan the calendar for next year at the Lock In.

Creep-o-Ree
November 5-7, 2021

It’s the last tent outing of the year and a TON of fun at Creep-o-Ree. Watch for information about this year’s theme.

There will be limited space, so sign up early!

Cost: $45 / person by September 14 | $55 / person by September 28 | $65 / person after September 28

Fall Fundraising
September 18 - October 12, 2021

It’s time for the Fall Fundraising Sale.

Packets will be available at the September 14 Troop Meeting. SALE STARTS SEPTEMBER 18 - DO NOT sell prior to this date. Show & Sell popcorn will be available starting Friday, September 17.

Money (Checks ONLY) and order entry into the on-line system will be due OCTOBER 12. Extra show & sell should be returned by this date.

Product Pick Up will be the week of November 10-13. Exact date/time will be announced.

4B 2022 Sea Base
July 29 - August 4, 2022

Estimated cost of the trip $1500-1800 per person. Final costs will depend on transportation. Exact dates will be depend on transportation method. Space is limited - a wait list will be formed when we reach crew size.

In-Person Troop Meetings

We’re going to continue meeting in-person as troops but continue to do so responsibly. Some of the COVID restrictions have been relaxed in the last two months.

Things to remember:

  1. Monitor your personal and family health. If your scout or family has had a fever in the last 2 weeks, has been sick in the last 2 weeks consider staying home. Please ensure you do not currently have a fever.
  2. Continue good hand washing / sanitizing practices - with additional washing / sanitizing as activities require.
  3. If you are un-vaccinated: Wear a cloth mask or face covering whenever inside a building or when within 6 feet of another person. Masks are optional if you are fully vaccinated.
  4. Disinfect surfaces after each meeting.

The troop leadership will continue to monitor the situation, feedback from parents, and recommendations of health officials.

Got Advancement?

Looking to have requirements signed off? Remember, it’s up to you to seek out a scout First Class or Above to test and sign off on your requirements. Once they’ve dated and initialed your advancement sheet, drop it in the box and it will get recorded in Scoutbook. Not in the box or without the initials of whoever signed it off? It doesn’t get recorded.

What about Merit Badges? Once you decide you want to work on a badge, fill out a Blue Card and take it to Mr. Landquist or Mrs. Tahtinen to sign off. They’ll also help you find merit badge counselors. Having issues contacting a counselor? Let Mr. Landquist or Mrs. Tahtinen know so they can help find another counselor.

Lost & Found

Can’t find something after an outing? Check the Troop’s Lost & Found!

Items will remain in the lost & found for three months and then will be disposed of (either donated or trashed depending on the item and its condition).
