June Kayak & Canoe Outing
June 26-28, 2015

Kayak or Canoe on the Kickapoo River -- there will be an opportunity to kayak or canoe on Saturday and Sunday morning. We’ll be staying at Wildcat Mountain State Park. Scouts need to have passed the BSA swimmer test to kayak or canoe. If you weren’t at the March Outing, see Mr. Landquist about how to get the test taken.

Cost $50 / person ($60 after June 9)

Permission slips are out.

Summer Camp 2015
July 5-11, 2014

Last Chance! If you haven’t all ready, get your Merit Badges sign up turned in ASAP.

Health Forms: All health forms need to be signed AFTER 7/1/14. Please make sure you write your immunization records ON PART B not just as an attachment. Also... When your doctor signs, please make sure the date they signed is on the form, not just the last examination date. If any of the signatures are dated more than a year ago, the med form will be considered invalid.

Camp would like as many health forms as possible 2 weeks prior to camp. Please drop them off at ETC prior to June 19 so we can get them sent in ahead. This will save us time at check-in.

Summer Camp Trailer Pack
July 3, 2015

Packing the trailer for Summer Camp is going to happen on July 3 from 3-5 pm. Not sure what gear you’ll need? There’s a packing list on the troop website.

St. John Neumann Service Meeting

Instead of a troop meeting, we’ll be working at St. John Neumann. Paths will be tidies and trimmed, the grounds will be picked up, and other small outdoor service projects will be completed.

OA Spring Conference

With summer camp season over, the OA will be helping Camp Long Lake put things in order for the fall and winter. Anyone called out at summer camp will be able to do their Ordeal this weekend.

August RenFaire Outing

We’re going to the Bristol Renaissance Faire! Oh, and this weekend’s theme is Swashbucklers. (Yes, the dates did change from the calendar from November.) Permission slips are out!

Troop 4 Portal

Want to know how much money’s in your scout account? Can’t remember if you signed up for an outing? You can find out on-line. Check out the Troop 4 Portal -- Parents... You can now have your own logon. If you have more than one scout in the troop, you can associate all your scouts with one user name! Email Liz with any questions.

June’s Quiz

  1. How many times does the average lobster molt (shed its shell) before it reaches the minimum legal length for harvesting in Maine?
  2. What U.S. city has a life-size bronze statue of 1970s sitcom character Arthur "The Fonz" Fonzarelli of TV's Happy Days prominently displayed along its RiverWalk?
  3. The motto of this 1904-1914 engineering project was "the land divided, the world united".

May’s Answers: 1) The hollow space or tube inside the barrel of a breaking wave. It's green because of the light reflected into the barrel. 2) Candy corn. 3) Green Bay, Wisconsin, the home of the Green Bay Packers as well as Quilted Northern Toilet Paper.
