Scout Dress Attire

There are four levels of Scout dress attire. In this section are the guidelines for each and when each is to be worn unless otherwise directed by the Scoutmaster. If there is any Scout family that has a concern regarding being able to supply their boy with a uniform please contact either the Scout master or the Potawatomi Council office for assistance.

Dress Categories:

Formal Dress A - This is the Dress A shirt, Troop neckerchief, belt, Scout pants (optional)*, merit badge sash and OA sash. If a Scout has both a merit badge sash and an OA sash only one is worn over the shoulder at a time. The other sash should be neatly displayed by hanging on the Scouts belt on their right hand side. This level of dress is worn to all Court of Honors or any other formal presentation.

Full Dress A - This is the Dress A shirt, Troop neckerchief, belt and Scout pants (optional)*. This level of dress is worn for all dinners at summer camp and when performing a Scout service project.

Dress A shirt only - This is the Dress A shirt only with a pair of appropriate shorts* or pants*. This level of dress is worn for all Troop and Patrol meetings. Scoutmaster conferences, Board of Reviews, summer camp breakfasts and all other outings unless specified.

Dress B shirt - This is the green Troop 23 T-shirt with appropriate shorts or pants. Athletic shorts or pants can be worn. This is minimal attire for all Scout events. This level is worn to all summer camp lunches and is the default level of dress for all campouts and hikes.

*At no time are athletic shorts or pants (which includes wind pants) an acceptable level of dress when wearing your Dress A shirts.
