Troop 15 invites you to:
Join the best Boy Scout troop in the area!
Troop 15 from North Prairie would like to encourage all 1st and 2nd year Webelos to attend one of our weekly meetings or monthly outings to see what Boy Scouting is all about.
Troop 15 has been operating over 65 years and is chartered by the North Prairie Lion's Club. The troop is run by the boys with all meetings and outings planned and executed under the leadership of the boys following the "Patrol Method" of scouting. We currently have 26 boys registered with the troop. In the past two years, we've awarded the Eagle rank advancement to seven scouts.
Meetings are held weekly at the North Prairie Town Hall on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.
We participate in monthly weekend camping outings, attend all Fox River District events and spend a wonderful week at summer camp. Some of the outings we have attended include:
Winter Frisbee Golf & Klondike Outing (Finished in Third Place this year!)
Winter Cabin camping and Polar Bear camping at Camp Long Lake.
Skiing at Cascade Mountain and Sunburst ski hills.
Spring Home Improvement Camporee.
Woodsman Campout at Pinewoods State Park.
Biking the Glacial Drumlin trail and the Elroy Sparta trail.
A week long summer camp at Camp Phillips, Tesomas, and/or Camp Long Lake.
Electronics Weekend @ Mukwonago Co. Park.
Canoeing the Flambeau River.
Hiking at Devil's Lake State Park and the Kettle Moraine.
Camping at Wyalusing State Park and touring historical sites in Prairie Du Chien.
Home Improvement Camporee at Camp Long Lake.
Troop 15 commits to several service projects each year through collecting food for the food pantries as well as keeping Hwy E free from litter through our trash pickup projects. The troop also assists the Lions Club with their annual pancake breakfast.
Several fund raising opportunities are sponsored by the troop which includes: Christmas Wreath sales, clean up at Maxwell Street Days, and popcorn/pizza/candy bar sales. All proceeds help the troop buy equipment and advancement awards, provide transportation for the outings, and generate funds for individual scout accounts to cover summer camp and other camping expenses.
The adult leaders of Troop 15 are dedicated to providing quality supervision for the scouting program. Five adult leaders are "Wood Badge" trained and ten adult leaders are "Oak Leaf" trained in scoutmaster fundamentals and outdoor skills.
All Webelos are encouraged to visit any of our meetings (satisfying a key Arrow of Light requirement) and enjoy the fun times. Remember Scouting is 3/4th outing so enjoy your last year(s) in cub scouting and make plans now to join us at one of our meetings or on one of our upcoming outings.
