PARENTS / LEADERS MEETINGS (a.k.a. Committee Meetings)

On the Second Wednesday of every month Troop 115 will hold a Parents / Leaders meeting to help plan outings and set direction for the troop.

Typically these meetings are referred to as Committee Meetings, but to avoid the comments, "well I'm not on that committee",we have opened it up to ALL parents to come and assist in developing our scouts.

All parents are encouraged to become leaders and take an active role with our troop.

We each have skills and knowledge to share.

One of the important things with Boy Scouts is to get the boys an experience they may never have had an option too.

Parents / Leaders Meetings are from 7:30 pm to 3:00pm on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.

TROOP MEETINGS

Our troop meetings are from 4:00pm to 5:30pm on the 2nd and 4th Sunday every month.

We met in the basement of Saint Boniface Church (GhanaHall)

Attendance is not mandatory but may effect your patrols ranking as an Honor Patrol Status (see patrols).

Unique Patrol Name, chosen by the patrol
Patrol Flag, made by the patrol
Uniform identification (patrol patches)
Patrol YELL, may be required to enter certain troop activities.

HONOR PATROL STATUS

Troop 115 recognizes each scout as a member of the their patrol.
Individual attendance, uniform inspection, achievements and rank advancement, behavior (good and bad)
will be counted towards the patrols effort in earning the Honor Patrol Status.

A patrol that earns the Honor Patrol Status
will be rewarded though a variety of methods such as,
Choosing the Tuesday meeting Game Time event
First chose of campsites
Lead patrol on Troop Hikes
etc..etc...

PATROL MEETINGS

The patrol is encouraged to meet in addition to the Troop meetings.
The patrol meetings are organized and ran by the scouts
with their patrol elected leader in charge.
During the patrol meetings the scouts may work on
advancement requirements,
merit badges,
craft projects,
model rocketry,
play games,
build go-carts,
plan a hike or bike trip
etc....etc...

It's their time! It's their patrol!

Scout - Tenderfoot - Second Class - First Class - Star - Life - Eagle

One of the requirements for rank advancement is through earning merit badges. These badges provide the scout with experiences he may not obtain elsewhere. The selection of merit badges includes topics that will meet everyone interest.

more info on merit badge here

To help the scouts feel additional reward from earning merit badges and rank advancement, troop115 recognizes rack advancement and earned merit badges at patrol point earning of the Honor Patrol Status.

A scout is encouraged to work on advancement at any time. Advancement from scout through First Class will be worked on during meetings, while advancement for star and above is the responsibility of the individual scout who can work on merit badges at summer camp or with a counselor. Merit badge counselors are assigned by the Scoutmaster. Guidance and assistance will be given by older scouts and adult leaders at anytime.

The Eagle rank is the highest rank a scout can earn. When a scout reaches the Life rank, the Scoutmaster will provide the scout with a packet of information, Life To Eagle.
