Pack 73 has adopted a soldier, SPC Daniel De Pons. Each month, a different den is responsible for sending a care package of letters and goodies to our soldier stationed overseas to give him a taste of home and let him know that we're thinking of him.
The following is the schedule for building the boxes:
Hello, my name is Alex Neimon, from Pack 73. Last week, my brother Joey and I were able to meet our troops adopted soldier-Daniel in person. He was home on a 2 week leave. I asked him several questions:
He is happy to serve his country but he is looking forward to this fall because he will becoming back to Wisconsin for good.
Joey and I enjoyed spending time with Daniel. He appreciates the cards and care packages.
Thats all I got to say,
Alex
Hey Mike,
I just wanted to give you an update and let you know that I have recieved the latest package from your pack. I appreciate everything that was sent to me. The pictures that they sent was really neat too. I liked the one of the "game called payback". Thought that one was funny. I also thought it was pretty neat that the sausage racers came to the Blue and Gold dinner you guys had in February. To all of you in the Webelos 2 den, thank you for everything. I remember when I was a cub scout and had a blast doing all of it. It was a great learning experience as I'm sure it is too for the boys.
Well the weather is starting to steadily stay hot. It has been a solid 110 during the for the last few weeks now and is only going to get hotter. During the peak of summer it will be around 120 to 130. I only have a few months left over here. It will be nice to be back on American soil again. Been keeping busy with the missions they got us doing and everything. Well I hope all is well back on the home front with you guys. Got to run.
Your pal,
Daniel
Hey Mike,
I just wanted to send you an update on what has been going on with me lately. Last week my platoon got to go to the babylon ruins which is just south of where we stay. So that was kind of cool. I enclosed a couple of pictures of so the kids and everyone can see it. there wasnt much left still standing. The stuff that was though was pretty cool. There were other parts that were rebuilt. All in all it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I just wanted to share it with you guys. I hope all is well back home.
Your pal,
Daniel
Just wanted to let you know that I received the boxes that the den 4 bears sent me. Thank you very much for all of the stuff that you guys sent out. Especially loved the reading material that you sent. I am enjoying it thoroughly. So to give you guys an update on whats going on over here. To start it is starting to get hotter like its been in the 100s the last couple of days and its only going to get hotter. Which kind of sucks but oh well. Other than that nothing is really new. Just staying busy with the missions they got us doing and doing guard (watching the area around our partol base). Any questions feel free to shoot me an email.
Sincerely,
Dan

So i am a driver now of the two vehicles that i sent. the bigger one is called a MRAP. it stands for mine resistant ambush protected and the other is a hmmvve. its like driving a big truck that can go just about anywhere. its real fun. been keeping busy by watching movies, playing video games and calling home when i have down time and am not out doing missions. well nothing else is really new. hope all is well back home with everyone.

Hi Mr. Neimon,
I received the package that you and your troop sent out today. I want to thank you and everyone that I thank you very much for it. It really made my day reading all of the cards that were sent.
Now in your letter you asked me to tell you guys how I was doing and all of that. So I did have a good Christmas and New Year given the circumstances of course. Life over here is quite different from the states as you can guess. I live in a tent most of the month. When I'm not in a tent I live in a 2 man room. When we are not doing tasks or missions we get to do what we want, like play video games and watch movies. The temperatures have been steadily around 60 or 70 degrees during the day and 50 at night. It has been a very mild winter. When I was here last time it was much colder during winter. Well I'm not sure what else to put in here for the kids. If you have any ideas of what they might like to hear about could you please let me know. Thanks again for everything and the support from your pack.
Sincerely,
Daniel De Pons
