Wreath Sales:
Most of our costs are funded by our annual Wreath Sales. This fundraiser also helps pay for part of each scouts' yearly membership fee (including a subscription to Boys' Life), so active participation is critical.
Some items to keep in mind:
- The Committee Chair provides wreath order forms to the Den Leaders.
- The Den Leaders provide these forms to the parents, typically at the first September den meeting.
- Completed order form(s) need to be given (or scanned in and emailed) to the Pack Committee Chair or the wreath fundraising chair(s). Please make sure all information on the form is legible, thank you.
- The Den Leaders are responsible for collecting payments from the parents. Checks (no cash please) should be made payable to "Pack 59". Payments can also be given to the Pack Committee Chair.
- Please don't send order forms or payments through school.
- Any questions can be directed to the Pack Committee Chair or wreath fundraising chair(s).
- All critical dates for this event (e.g. Order form(s) due, Wreath pickup day and Payments due) are all scheduled. Please see the Pack 59 Events Calendar.
- Parents, please pick up your orders on wreath distribution day.
- After wreath pickup day, payments should be collected and turned in as quickly as possible. The Pack is typically given only a few weeks to pay the vendor in full before late charges apply.
- A scout may opt out of the fundraiser for $50 (annual buyout amount). However, this is discouraged as this is our only fundraiser.
- Each scout must sell a minimum of $125 of wreaths, otherwise a shortfall payment to the Pack will be needed. For example:
Wreath sales:
Pack 59 profit:
Annual buyout:
Shortfall due:
$60
$24 (typically around 40% of sales)
$50
$26 ($50 - $24)
- Each scout receives a 10% commission on sales beyond $150. For example:
Wreath sales:
Sales beyond $150:
10% commission earned:
$450
$300 ($450 - $150)
$30 ($300 * 10%)
- Any commission earned by a scout will only be paid after full payment for all wreaths sold by the scout is made to the Pack.
- Parents may download a brochure from the wreath company.
