How to Join

It is simple to join Cub Scouts. Any boy from 1st grade through 5th grade is eligible to join Pack 56, whether or not they attend Dixon Elementary school. The official Cub Scout Application form from the Boys Scouts of America must be filled out entirely and signed by a Parent or Guardian. For the Tiger Scout program, parents must accompany their son for outings.

Aside from the cost of your sonís uniform, there is a $15.00 fee to join Boy Scouts of America. If your son is interested in purchasing an optional subscription to Boyís Life, there is an additional cost or $12.00. These fees are paid directly to Boy Scouts of America. I strongly recommend the subscription. The magazine is full of articles geared toward the boys covering everything from Camping tips to inspirational stories of scouts from around the world.

Pack 56 earns money for awards, den/pack activities, Pinewood Derby cars and trophies, as well as many other activities through the annual Christmas Wreath sales drive. This drive takes place from late September through November. Since the money raised during the Wreath sale benefits all scouts of Pack 56, everyone is expected to participate.
