Cub Scout Camping

Since Robert Baden-Powell took those 22 boys to Brownsea Island, camping has been the center of scouting.  Cub Scouts camp with a parent or guardian at age appropriate events.  Most boys feel camping is the best part of the scouting experience and Cub Scouts provides plenty of opportunities.

Backyard Camping

Most kids start camping in the backyard.  It's easy and very low risk.  You always know were the bathroom is and you can always run inside if the weather turns.

Cub Scout Day Camp

Potawatomi Area Council along with Milwaukee County Council run a Cub Scout only camping facility at Indian Mound Reservation in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, about 50 minutes Southwest of Menomonee Falls.   There are programs for every age group from Tigers through Webelos.  Day Camps are run throughout the summer and weekends are available for Cub Scout family camping.

River Rats / Swamp Fox

Potawatomi Area Council runs two regular Cub Scout camping weekends, one in the spring called River Rats, and one in the fall called Swamp Fox.  Both weekends are held at Camp Long Lake which is about 50 minutes north of Menomonee Falls in St. Cloud, Wisconsin.  These camps are designed to mimic a Boy Scout campout, but at a Cub Scout age level.

Webelos Jamboree

Webelos Jamboree is held in September at Menomonee Park, here in Menomonee Falls.  This council wide event provides an opportunity for Webelos I's and II's to see many different troops and experiance Boy Scouts first hand.  Troops normally provide a short presentation to the parents about the troop while the boys are learning skills like cooking, backpacking, first aid, bow and arrow, and bb gun.

Snow Snakes

Troop 109 invites all the Webelos from Pack 109 to a winter camp at Menomonee Park during January.  Snow Snakes is a full weekend of adventure out in the snow while having a cabin to get warmed up in.  On Saturday, teams are formed to practice scouting skills like compass, signaling and fire building.  The evenings are always topped by a late night hike around the lake.  You never had so much fun outside in January in Wisconsin.
