Cub Scouts is one of three divisions in the Boy Scouts of America. After Cub Scouts a fifth grader joins Boy Scouts. Boy Scouts is different than Cub Scouts in that adult leaders are only there to act as basic guides and manage the business portion of each troop. Boy Scouts is primarily a 'Boy Run' program. Venture Scouts is the third division in the Boy Scouts of America. Venturing is available to boys and girls thirteen years of age and older. Venturing crews are centered around common interests such as high adventure or camping.
Boy Scouting, one of three membership divisions of the BSA (the others are Cub Scouting and Venturing), is available to boys who have earned the Arrow of Light Award or have completed the fifth grade, or who are 11 through 17 years old, and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law. The program achieves the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness qualities among youth by focusing on a vigorous program of outdoor activities.
Troop 109 is traditionally where boys from Cub Scout Pack 109 join. Troop adult leadership is made up of former Pack 109 leaders and most scout members are from Pack 109.

Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age.
Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
Venturing is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth, adult leaders, and organizations in their communities. Local community organizations establish a Venturing crew by matching their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. The result is a program of exciting and meaningful activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, to grow, to develop leadership skills, and to become good citizens.
Venturing crews can specialize in a variety of avocation or hobby interests.
